WOD 12/30

“Bugaboo”
200 Thruster (75 lb, 45 lb)

I do not seek pity, and neither would they. I am writing this because the first step to fighting this disease is to get the word out that there is a killer out there that most don’t even know about. So when you are standing in a pool of sweat and someone asks you what you are doing, tell them. Tell them about my little Bug, tell them about Addi, tell them about SMA and tell them to spread the word. 3-2-1…Go!” -Benjamin Abruzzo Jr.

I just signed up for the Warrior Dash if anyone else wants to do it. Sounds pretty sweet: “Welcome to America’s most insane race. Warrior Dash lands in Texas for the first time in 2010 where 14 obstacles from hell await along this 3.51 mile course. Are you a warrior?” Obstacles include climbing bales of hay, running through uncharted forests, jumping over fire, climbing over cargo ropes, etc.

Sign up soon, prices go up in January, and a couple of waves are already full!

Thanks so much for your efforts! It means a great deal to Karen and I, as well as our friends Ben and Tasha. We will be doing this again next year and I hope you will join us again. Thanks!

Having never heard of SMA, I have spent the morning trying to learn more about it. The most horrific sentence I have encountered so far was under the heading, “Treatment” and it read “There is no treatment for the progressive weakness caused by the disease.” I am proud to be part of a community that is striving to change that sentence and will be honored to be a part of this WOD today! Shane, thank you sharing your story!!

What a great way to spread awareness of a disease that is so unfamiliar. I love being part of the crossfit community and am honored to take part in the WOD today!

What up Boone?! I registered a while ago and am in the first wave of the Warrior Dash! Which one are you in?

p.s. I’m in a different job now (same company) and once everything gets settled, I won’t be traveling anymore so when I come back, I’ll be a more regular regular :)

Congrats Tara! I’m in wave 2. Make sure you’re waiting at the finish line for me with a beer in hand.

Hopefully we can get a crew to travel up there together.
